The summer school is going to take place at the logic library of the University of Bonn.
Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn Am Hof 3-5 53113 Bonn 2nd floor
As you can see on the map, Bonn Central Station (Bonn Hauptbahnhof) is just 5 minutes away from the venue. You can reach Bonn Central Station via train.
Wi-Fi is available at the University of Bonn via Eduroam.
Please make sure to set Eduroam up at your home university, since it is not possible to do this at any other university. Once Eduroam is properly set up you can use it at every participating university.
Hostel
The participants of the summer school are housed at Max Hostel (http://www.max-hostel.de/index.php?lang=en) in the old town of Bonn. This is within walking distance of the University (ca. 15 min. by foot).
Food and Drinks
There are many nice bars and restaurants in Bonn and especially in the old city. Here are some recommendations but the list is really just an inspiration and by no means complete:
BLA
Right next to Max Hostel is the BLA (Bonner Lärm Anstalt) an alternative bar with decent prices and loud music. You can play table football for free there. (http://www.bla-bonn.de).
Frittebud
Next door to the BLA is the Frittebud, a burger and fries place run by the same owners. Besides good quality beef burgers, the Frittebud also serves good veggie burgers. You can order the food for take away and eat it at the BLA. (http://www.frittebud.com).
Café Blüte
Cafe´ Blüte is a nice tee bar next to Max hostel. The serve a wide variety of quality tees and a nice and relaxing environment. (Heerstraße 61, 53111 Bonn)
Grünspecht
Grünspecht is vegan (more or less) fast food place. They serve good Vröner (vegan shawarma) and sweet potato fires with home made sauces. Small but very nice! (http://www.bonngusto.net/gruenspecht/).
Nyx
A typical student bar right next to the Grünspecht. Sometimes with concerts, or other events. They have a nice beer garden for the warmer days. (http://www.das-nyx.de).
Café Blau
A typical student café, next to the university. The have decent food (I recommend the vegetarian ravioli with tomato sauce) and a nice architecture since it used the be the entrance hall of public swimming pool. (http://www.cafeblaubonn.de).
The Blow Up is a mixture of bar and discotheque, which uses to be a brothel. You're nights in Bonn will probably end in there. You have to have seen it, since you don't have to pay an entrance fee. The play the same music since 30 years but it's still as danceable (mostly swing rock classics and hippy surf stuff). (http://www.blow-up-bonn.de).
Cala D'or
The mini pizzeria Cala D'or is an entity! Located next to the central station, it is an meeting pot for the hole nightlife of Bonn. If you come home from the Blow Up and feel the need for a midnight (or later) pizza, Cala D'or is the place to go. Cheep pizza (Mageritha 3 €) which is produced fast and unfriendly by the 'cubic human' (you'll understand) who handles communication with just one word: "nächste" (which means: the next (customer)). If you're complete feed up with life try the chilli sauce which they serve from an old dish liquid bottle. Seriously. (http://www.yelp.de/biz/mini-pizzeria-cala-dor-bonn).
